iOS5 launched yesterday (October 12, 2011). Apple’s servers must have been swarming with traffic, and still, even today they are probably maxed out. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that the launch was without hiccups though. It took several attempts to install iOS5 on my iPhone 3GS.

Downloading the actual software only caused one error for me, otherwise that part of the process was okay, except for it being SO Slow to download! Installing the software proved to be a worse experience…

Twitteris still full of people getting error 3200 codes in iTunes while trying to install the iOS5. The worst part about getting the error, at least for me, is it has to back up the iPhone first, which was about 15+ minutes or so, then it would give the error. Trying to install again made the system try to back up again; so each and every time I tried, I had to wait till it got to that step before it would fail. I finally shut my computer down, unplugged my flash drive and USB printer and decided to wait till morning. —> It then worked okay (but was a painfully slow process).
Have you upgraded to iOS5? What kind of experience did you have?
I’ve been playing with the new features and will share my experiences (good & bad) in upcoming blog posts. Stay Tuned!
